Megan Black delivers empowering anthems with ‘Full Circle Part 1’

Award-winning Megan Black dropped a new EP called ‘Full Circle Part 1’ on the 29th of September. With each track representing a chapter of a bigger project, ‘Full Circle Part 1’ is just the beginning of a deeply personal journey that unveils the highs and lows of Megan’s life experiences, as well as her tireless dedication to challenging societal norms and creating an inclusive space for everyone.

The lead single ‘MOTHER. SISTER. LOVER.’ is the perfect song to kick off with.

With its infectious rhythm and empowering lyrics, the song emphasises the strength found in unity, encouraging women to lift each other up and stand together against societal injustices. It serves as a reminder that when women support one another, they can overcome any obstacle and build lasting, powerful relationships.

With 'Just For Fun,' Megan delves into the depths of self-destructive tendencies, when we're so used to feeling pain that it becomes comfortable. It’s worth mentioning that ‘Just For Fun’ was voted one of the top 20 singles to be released in Scotland in 2022.

The track 'Fuck You (You Stole My Youth)' takes a bold stand, echoing the feelings of victims of sexual assault. In this daring track, Megan follows the footsteps of activists like Tarana Burke, sparking conversations and breaking the silence surrounding trauma and anger.

The EP culminates with 'Me Vs Mother Nature,' an intense call to action addressing our shared environmental concerns. Megan has supported the charity Greenpeace before through her music, allowing her to deeply understand the need to take action, embrace new perspectives and inspire change. Some people can hear some Kate Bush influences in this powerful track.

What sets 'Full Circle Part 1' apart is its unapologetic approach to tackling these issues head-on. The Edinburgh-based artist fearlessly embraces the responsibility of a socially conscious artist, using their platform to shed light on topics often relegated to the shadows.

With this release, Megan Black proves that music can be a force for positive transformation, making Full Circle Part 1 a must-listen for anyone passionate about social progress.
