Following early buzz from BBC Introducing, Apple Music and Amazing Radio, Messy Eater unveils ‘All Out Of Time’, the closing track from his kaleidoscopic debut EP 'Southern Fried'.
A dusty, groove-laden slow-burner, ‘All Out Of Time’ blends hip hop beats with crackly organ stabs, harmonica hooks and tongue-in-cheek reflections on modern consumption. “I’ve spent a lifetime mining for gold / now we’re all using plastic to pay,” he quips, nodding to both the absurdity and exhaustion of late-capitalist life.
Drawing on the cut-and-paste genius of The Avalanches and The Dust Brothers, Messy Eater (aka Pete Bott) crafts a sound that’s playful, poignant, and unmistakably his own. With this final track, he delivers a perfect send-off; sardonic, soulful, and all too relatable.
