Rising bedroom-pop singer-songwriter MJ Fretwell unveils her highly anticipated second single ‘Still Miss It’, released June 6th. The track follows her critically praised debut ‘Tainted’, which has already surpassed 20,000 Spotify streams since its March 21st release.

‘Still Miss It’ builds on the foundation laid by her debut, showcasing MJ’s effortlessly polished sound and her growing confidence as both a vocalist and lyricist. The track opens with textured guitar strums and buoyant percussion, gradually folding in lush vocal harmonies that swirl with her signature dreamy aesthetic. It’s a song drenched in bittersweet nostalgia, with lyrics that explore the tension between memory and reality - delicate, candid, and steeped in emotional depth.

“I have always found it easier to write love songs, songwriting just feels like journaling to me. It feels good to have it all down on paper and out of my head, and creating a song that reflects a difficult experience is a healthy way to express your feelings, and then let it rest.”

Crafted in a home studio in North West London alongside her longtime collaborator and producer Luke Ashby, the single is a testament to the intimacy and care behind MJ’s music-making process. Every layer of ‘Still Miss It’ feels intentional; melancholic but soothing, heart-wrenching yet comforting.

With more music on the way later this year, MJ Fretwell is steadily carving out her own lane - ‘Still Miss It’ is another confident step forward from an artist whose sound is already strikingly her own.
