'My Location' is the new single from axe.shay

Released on the 28th of May, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist axe.shay has dropped his newest single, 'My Location.' Discussing themes of freedom and its absence in modern society, the single is punchy, showcasing rip-roaring rock elements while looking back on Indian classical influences.

Endorsed by Orange Amplification and being a finalist in the Rock and Singer/Songwriter categories of the UK Songwriting Contest 2016. My Location is testament to those previous achievements. In the artist’s words, “‘My Location’ is about the tension between who you are and who you’re allowed to be. The idea of 'location' goes beyond the physical; it’s about being pinned down psychologically, emotionally, even creatively. When everything about you feels mapped out..your tendencies, your choices, your voice, you start to question what freedom actually means.”

As the great-grandson of Naina Devi and a graduate of Southern California, axe.shay journey from Goa to the US to the UK is showcased in the complexity of his writing. Having worked across advertising, TV, and film, Akshay's latest work is proving better than ever.
