North Devon’s Joe Brewer and his One Man Boycott project return with 'Face For Radio', a twelve-track full-length that’s as brash and melodic as it is introspective. From the opening salvo of 'Imposter Syndrome' to the sunlit closer 'Optimist Prime', Brewer fuses pop-punk energy with an emotional honesty that elevates the record well above genre clichés. This is music made to move your feet while tugging at your chest, a balancing act the band navigates with uncanny precision.

Bouncing, urgent guitar hooks meet moments of quiet vulnerability, with lyrics that confront mental health, relapse, recovery, and the messy business of self-acceptance. Tracks like 'Confidence' and 'Self Help Pt. 2' showcase the band’s ability to turn introspection into sing-along anthems, while darker corners such as 'The Alchemist' and 'I’m Broken, You’re Lonely' explore addiction, despair, and longing without ever losing melodic accessibility. Brewer’s vocals carry the confessional weight of someone who has been through the fire and is willing to share the scars, layered over the tight, propulsive rhythm section of Bryant, Layland, and Courtney.

'Face For Radio' also experiments without losing its hook-driven core. 'Simulation Theory' injects post-punk flavour, 'Empathy Is Overrated' nods to ’80s rock textures, and 'Nevergenetics' turns existential musings into a fan-favorite singalong. The DIY-but-polished production, all handled by Brewer himself and finished by Grant Berry, gives the album a cohesive, intimate feel, as if every chorus and guitar lick were crafted to land with maximum impact.

Ultimately, 'Face For Radio' is a record about survival and reclamation, delivered with grit, wit, and heart. One Man Boycott prove that pop-punk can carry both punch and depth, offering anthems for anyone who’s fallen, rebuilt, and learned to sing while doing it.
