Peppermint Heaven trade the dancefloor for reflection on new EP 'Time To Say Goodbye'

Peppermint Heaven have spent much of their recent run pushing towards the future, but 'Time To Say Goodbye' finds the LA duo looking inward instead. Across three tracks, they swap the brighter pulse of recent singles for something softer, more reflective and deliberately retro-minded.

‘Paper Dreams’ opens the EP with a buoyant pop arrangement that disguises a more thoughtful idea underneath, weighing the comfort of easy ambitions against the discomfort that often comes with meaningful change. It's light on its feet, but the writing gives it more substance than its surface initially suggests.

Then the title-track moves into warmer territory. ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ carries the simplicity of an older-fashioned love song, with the duo leaning into melody and sentiment without overcomplicating either. Moving into power-ballad territory, Peppermint Heaven use the song to explore the need to leave old versions of yourself behind and step more confidently into the person you have become. It gives the EP a satisfying sense of resolution, both musically and thematically.

But what makes 'Time To Say Goodbye' most interesting is how clearly these songs reflect a band comfortable enough to change direction. After exploring more dance-oriented, technology-conscious territory on recent releases, the duo sound equally at home working with classic pop structures and slower emotional dynamics.
