Powerful singer-songwriter Callum Crighton unveils poetic debut EP 'Lazer Police: The Musical'

Easily one of the strongest releases of June, 'Lazer Police: The Musical' comes in a time of need. Representing Pride Month and standing up for the LGBTQ+ community, Callum Crighton is the artist you need in your life. Dedicating his life to being unique and standing up for individuality, creativity and quality, Callum is best described as a force to be reckoned with. Continually able to grab your attention with each release, the exceptional new EP could easily find Callum standing next to his main musical influences.

Speaking about the nostalgic yet refreshing upcoming EP and last track on the release ‘Universal Hand’, Callum shares, “This track was inspired by the loneliness yet togetherness one can feel from the age of digital communication. It has an old school 80's ballad sound with a more modern upbeat drum movement to connect the nostalgic ideals of the past with the electronic realities of the present. This track could loosely be seen as a reference to the isolation people felt during the 2020 pandemic, but extends much further, and can also be about the loneliness one may feel within themselves.”

Standing up for individuality, creativity and the LGBTQ+ community, Callum adds on his beliefs, “I am a firm believer in all humans being treated with love and respect despite their background. I feel that there is still no strong representation for queer people in the musical landscape at the moment (especially not in the UK) and I really strive to be that. I also am vegan and a big believer in looking after our lovely world and all the animals and plants in it. I am an activist for LGBTQ+ rights and want to open up a wider dialogue surrounding our treatment, using music and being my theatrical self to become a walking political statement. I also have a unibrow and am a big believer in beauty coming in non-traditional forms, and that self-love is the most important of all! I also am a believer in manifesting dreams and believing in the powers of the universe.”
