Queen Cult are a rock band hailing from Macclesfield, Cheshire. The masterminds behind the rock outfit are guitarist Maisie Johnson, drummer Brodie Carson and bassist Piers Jarvis. They're part of a fast growing alternative live music scene in the UK which is organised by and supports femme-led LBGTQ+ .
Queen Cult's latest single comes in the form of single "Lollipop", released in anticipation of sophomore EP "For Now, Not Forever." Drums smash through the mix whilst grooving bass lines ebb and flow between. On top, Maisie's vocals are infectious, working hand in glove with well-penned lyrics.
Speaking about the single, vocalist and guitarist Maisie reveals: “Lollipop was a very spontaneous song to write. I had the main riff for ages. The lyrics describe how your actions can really stall and affect someone else without realising. So this song serves to vocalise the honest and visceral frustration of not knowing how to approach a changing situation.”
Queen Cult have developed an infectious live show. Festival appearances included Great Escape, Bingley Weekender, Your City, Loud Women and Neighbourhood to name a few. Queen Cult have an incredible ability to entertain an audience, no matter what size.
Queen Cult will be playing in the following venues to support their second EP release:
February 17th Manchester, YES Basement
February 23rd Portsmouth, Edge of the Wedge
February 24th Bristol, The Lanes
