Queen Cult releases infectious new single ‘It Matters To Me’

Queen Cult are a rising rock outfit from Macclesfield, lead by guitarist and lead vocalist Maisie Johnson. Brodie Carson and Piers Jarvis bring the groove, taking up drums and bass respectively. Their latest single "It Matters To Me" features over-drive drenched riffs, thrashing drums and irresistible vocal lines.

Discussing the release, Maisie explains: “This song was written for a friend. I wanted to understand it from her perspective and to give her a platform that would radiate with empowerment, after such distrust and pain she had endured. I wanted to show her she is not alone and how undeserving that moment was for her. I wanted her to feel heard, since she felt she had been silenced by that moment. For anyone else unheard or needing that feeling of empowerment in a moment where your femininity or dignity felt stolen. I hear you. You’re valid. It matters x”

Identifying as queer supporting the LBGTQ+ community, Queen Cult are part of a rapidly growing alternative live music scene in the UK which is organised by and supports femme-led LBGTQ+ artists who excel live and have something to say. Their DSP support includes the Spotify playlists New Music Friday UK, All New Rock, Rainbow, Pulp, Shockwave and Fresh Finds; Deezer’s Girl’s Rock playlist; YouTube Music’s New Alternative and Tidal’s Indie Britain playlist.
