R&B meets experimental pop artist Simha returns with ethereal anthem 'Gravity'

Updated: Sep 10, 2021

Creating out of this world music with hints of R&B hybrid pop throughout, Simha is best described as a force to be reckoned with. Returning with the new single 'Gravity, released at the end of August, the expressive new single leans towards neo-jazz and experimental textures to convey its spiritual persona. Ambient in all the right places, the spacious new single will leave you floating and forgetting that gravity even exists for just under three and a half minutes.

Sharing his thoughts on the new single, Simha states, "When I started writing Gravity with my co-writer, Carly, I just wanted to dig into my need for grounding and inner peace. It took a long time for me to come to terms with my anxiety and depression. As much as understanding where all of these feelings stem from was important, I also just wanted to accept and move forth.

Obviously that is easier said than done, but the most important step was acceptance and being able to separate the emotions from myself as a person. When I realized that, I knew that that was what the song was going to be about -- sonically AND lyrically. So Ari sent me a bunch of beautifully rich string parts that just fit so perfectly into the production. She emulated all the intricacies of what I wanted to convey and most importantly she conveyed the acceptance. Listening to her string arrangement was like I could finally breathe out. The fact that we did this over the internet during a pandemic, really makes me proud.”
