REVIEW: Herman Martinez captivates on the sprawling new LP 'Immortal Jellyfish'

Throughout his tenure so far, Atlanta's Herman Martinez has always been more of a polymath on the new music scene. Regularly embarking into wild and unventured territory with his wildly experimental attitude, his work to date has been littered with some brilliantly inventive releases, oozing with unbridled energy at every turn. And with his output a bit more scattered about than usual, he looks to bring its all together for his latest LP 'Immortal Jellyfish'.

Coming in with 18 new tracks, 'Immortal Jellyfish' sits as the longest and most adventurous of his albums so far. Made up with a mix of prog-rock, psychedelica, post-rock and almost anything else he feels like, 'Immortal Jellyfish' has this brilliantly diverse appeal to it. Branching out his creative wings as far as they will go, this new release sees him enter the next phase within his immersive direction and invites us all along for the enigmatic ride.

Trying to figure out where this new record will ever go next almost feels like a fool's errand, as the true beauty of 'Immortal Jellyfish' lies in its unpredictability. Bustling with such a bold and electrifying aura throughout, these new offerings marks some of Martinez's most passionate and innovative work to date.
