REVIEW: Hotline - Lovesick

Having first met back in 2013, the French trio, Hotline, have dropped their hip-hop pop hybrid track, ‘Lovesick’, in a follow up to their debut single ‘The Gram’.

Consisting of three friends, Simon, Guilaume, and Léo, their unique soundscape boasts contemporary and upbeat percussion elements, and hypnotic flows throughout. Recorded in the Sodasound Studio in Paris, ‘Lovesick’ is an intoxicating and deeply thrilling track. Hotline opened up on the meaning behind their new hit:

“‘Lovesick’ is about past lovers and the awkward feeling of not knowing what to do with yourself. Wondering if you will ever find someone like them.”

Having started their musical journey together as a garage band in 2013, Hotline have since gone on to harness their distinct chemistry as they continue to release captivating tracks. Utilising the abundance of time that a year like one has provided them, Hotline have dedicated their year to perfecting their sound and honing their skills.

Much like it’s predecessor, ‘Lovesick’ is an incredibly promising second track for one of France’s most exciting up-and-coming groups.
