It started with a chant. Then came the beat. Then, somewhere along the way, what started out as a joke became “MOVE YA BODY”, NOAH’s latest single.
That route into the song is worth noting because the finished record still has the directness of its original idea. The vocal phrase "move your body" sits at the centre of everything, giving the track an instantly recognisable focal point while the production builds around it.
NOAH assembles Brazilian funk, amapiano, gqom and EDM into the arrangement, creating plenty of rhythmic activity without losing the central hook. Percussion does much of the heavy lifting, while the electronic elements give the track a bigger, festival-ready feel.
The primary subject is dancing, confidence and enjoying the moment, and the music stays close to that brief. It is the sort of songwriting that understands the value of a memorable and catchy hook when the repeated phrase is strong enough to carry a room.
That is also what gives “MOVE YA BODY” its personality. The song came from something spontaneous rather than a grand plan, and its finished form retains that sense of fun.
NOAH has taken his initial vocal idea and expanded it into a full production without losing what made the original chant work. The result is a record with a clear centre, a lively rhythmic backbone and a hook designed to travel well beyond the studio.
