Glasgow-based songstress Ruby Gaines has unveiled her new single 'How It Looks' through ICEBLINK LUCK, a renowned Scottish indie label. Produced by Chris McCrory, known for his work with Walt Disco and The Joy Hotel, the captivating track was recorded at Glasgow's prestigious Green Door Studio. Ruby Gaines' alluring vocals demand attention from the opening seconds, evoking the timeless allure of legendary artists. Blending R&B, pop, and soul, 'How It Looks' merges classic and contemporary styles for a gut-punching sonic experience.

In her own words about the new release, Ruby shared:

“This song is about laying yourself down in front of someone and asking them to see you but they refuse. It’s about the “bro’s before hoes” lads that don’t want to see their bros’ actions as harmful and about me finally saying “Fuck this, and fuck you too. You don’t want to hear me speaking my truth? I’ll start loudly singing it instead.”

Supported by Creative Scotland, Gaines has created her debut EP titled 'Heavy Good,' with 'How It Looks' serving as the lead single. Grammy-nominated audio engineer Philip Shaw Bova, recognized for his collaborations with Father John Misty and Angel Olsen, mastered the EP. Fans can anticipate the full release of 'Heavy Good' on Friday, August 18.

This exceptional single marks the start of Gaines' unique musical journey, with the 'Heavy Good' EP poised to make a significant impact on the world stage. Save the date for August 18 as ICEBLINK LUCK unveils this remarkable musical endeavor to an eagerly awaiting audience.
