Ruth Brosnan effortlessly steps into her new moniker t.RUTH with 'I Don't Need To Be Saved'

Homegrown Irish artist Ruth Brosnan is well-versed in the art of anthemic productions. Following the development of an uplifting pop-packed catalogue of sonic goodness, the rising songstress now seeks to uncover a more raw, direct style of storytelling. Armed with a new take on infectious pop productions and of course her signature 80’s infused sound, Ruth now returns to the spotlight with ‘I Don’t Need To Be Saved’, effortlessly transitioning into her newest moniker t.RUTH.

With previous thought-provoking releases like ‘Good Enough’, ‘Toodle-Oo’, and ‘Electric Gold’ putting her name before a well-versed group of music fans, the Cork-based talent maintains her zest for combatting real issues, while continuing to discover a pure means of translating and understanding her experiences.

Echoes of futuristic genres are packed with divine, feminine energy in her latest unique, quirky production. As the songstress confronts some of the fundamental struggles that young people face in this generation, she gives a powerful nod to the importance of speaking your truth, delving into the pressures of social media and its ‘perfect lies’.

t.RUTH’s lyricism naturally veers towards a stream of consciousness, resembling conversations and battles within herself as she gradually creates a jigsaw of challenging musings. Supported by smooth, layered synths and a superbly rich topline; all in great anticipation of an impactful and euphonious chorus, driving bass and tantalising drum patterns add the finishing touches as the rising star injects deep contemplation and experience into all of her work.

The accompanying music video packs just as much of a punch with its playful, vibrant and ultramodern style, presenting social media as a cartoon-like intangible entity. Open to all avenues of creative exploration, t.RUTH’s latest offering is indeed reminiscent of the golden age of the 80’s, yet with a new-found self-awareness and an evolved approach.

t.RUTH as a concept embodies the idea of consistently being true to yourself, especially where challenges show up in unexpected ways. As she teases her forthcoming EP ‘Redemption’, a project which confronts similar themes; the multi-talented artist now seeks to unlock her most unapologetic, brave and boldest self. The result? A multi-dimensional, exceedingly captivating release.

'I Don't Need To Be Saved' is about standing up to the pressures of social media and 'it’s perfect lies'. It's about controlling the 'monkey mind', being unapologetic, brave, bold and confident in yourself.’
