saachisen releases tranquil new song “Pastéis De Nata”

saachisen is an Indian born and London based singer-songwriter, who’s unique take on pop has received a warm welcome from fans and critics alike. saachisen’s divine music comes with textually diverse song layers, emotional lyricism and enchanting instrumentation. She’s landed a semi-finalist place in the International Songwriting Competition, a Long List position in Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition and received PRS for Music's prestigious Lynsey de Paul award for female songwriters.

saachisen is back, and looking to make 2023 her year. Her latest single “Pastéis De Nata” is an infectious but emotionally-penned new offering. The single features flowing string sections, warm piano lines and heavenly backing vocals. saachisen vocals land on top, softly penned but impactful, working hand in glove with well-penned lyricism.

Speaking further about the single, she says: “Pastéis de Nata is the true story of my quest for closure from a past relationship. I loved the process of writing it, because it was so satisfying to tie up the mess of thoughts in my head through the medium of pastry! Having a sweet tooth is a key part of my personality, so it felt like I was reclaiming events and finally seeing them on my own terms. In the end, the thing that really gave me closure was writing the song itself. Pastéis de Nata won a shortlist place in Abbey Road’s inaugural topline competition during the pandemic and has been fully produced / mixed by David Leondi (Abbey Road Institute) and mastered by Stella Massonnet (Apple Music’s Platoon). It features violin played by Portuguese national Maria Viseu, and cello by Linden Ralph.”

It’s quite clear to see that 2023 is going to be saachisen’s year. Achieving accolades such as landing in the finalist spots for the Eastern Eye ACTAs and the UK Songwriting Competition, playing venues such as O2 Academy Islington, the Camden Assembly and Oslo Hackney, we can see her going straight to the top.
