SAPPHIRE Shares Affecting Piano Ballad ‘call u mine’ From Upcoming EP
Delicate in both its delivery and its emotional essence, 'call you mine' is a premeditates demonstration of SAPPHIRE's ability as a performer and a writer. Accessible and yet deeply personal, the track shows a level of musicality and understanding comparable to Taylor Swifts 'Folklore', expertly treading the line between commercial pop and musical beauty.
Speaking about the single and it's empathetic portrayal of heartbreak, SAPPHIRE said:
"I really wanted this song to mimic the feeling of falling in love - that warm fuzzy feeling that we’ve all experienced in some way. But even though the production mirrors that feeling, the lyrics explain how it’s not always happily ever after.
I think ‘call u mine’ has really given me an opportunity to go back to my roots, taking inspiration from some of my idols like Carly Simon and Carole King. I’ve always felt like their songs came from the heart, which I’m hoping is how people will feel when they listen to this song."
A promising demonstration of SAPPHIRE's capability as an artist, the track is a sure signpost for what can be expected on the upcoming EP.
