Leeds’ most unruly collective Sleuth Gang are back with a vengeance. Their latest release 'Safe Bet' is a raw and unflinching dive into the wreckage of one-sided relationships, a jagged anthem wrapped in grit, defiance, and emotional fallout.

What starts as a snarling groove quickly evolves into a tightly coiled burst of indie-punk catharsis. Built around a monstrous rhythm section and layered with duelling guitars that teeter between chaos and control, the track rides high on its cutting honesty and explosive dynamics. It’s here that Sleuth Gang’s triple-vocalist setup truly shines, with voices crashing over one another in layered confessionals that feel more like therapy sessions than lyrics.

There’s venom in the delivery, but also vulnerability, especially in the way the chorus aches with the realisation of being moulded into someone else’s fantasy, all for the sake of holding onto something already fractured.

Producer Dave Boothroyd (with a résumé that includes work on Bring Me The Horizon and Blink-182 sessions) keeps things punchy and propulsive, capturing the fire of a band that’s clearly coming into its own.

Drawing influence from punk, hip-hop, and alt-rock giants alike, Sleuth Gang aren’t easily boxed in, and they like it that way. Their sound is frantic yet focused, emotionally-charged but cleverly self-aware. If last year's debut EP 'Initiation' was the spark, 'Safe Bet' is the full-blown ignition of a band with serious bite and something to say.

No surprise then that they’ve already bagged support from BBC Radio and taken home wins on the live circuit. With more music on the way and festival slots stacking up, Sleuth Gang’s rise feels anything but accidental. Bet on it.
