US singer-songwriter Sophia Stephens has been one of the more consistently brilliant artists in recent memory. After making a firm and confident introduction with her 'Remnantal' EP last year, she has been moving from strength to strength in the months since, most notably on her recent standalone single 'Fervor'. And still only 18 years old, she is back once again to deliver her wondrous debut album 'Love & Grief'.
Much like what her initial offerings introduced us to, her newest endeavour finds her in a wonderfully explorative guise from start to finish. Combining these anthemic pop-rock aesthetics with some wildly adventurous production at every turn, 'Love & Grief' not only heightens her progressive intent of late, but establishes her as one of the more captivating names on the rise right now.
While we were totally enthralled by her earlier work, 'Love & Grief' sees her build on those enigmatic foundations to deliver a truly absorbing full-length debut. Fresh, innovative, and euphoric as often as possible, Sophia Stephens remains a standout addition to today's new music scene.
