Indie singer-songwriter Tamar Berk returns with 'stay close by', the opening track and first single from her upcoming album 'ocd', a moody, atmospheric reflection on connection, uncertainty, and quiet resilience.
Blending fuzzed-out guitars, dreamy textures, and emotionally charged lyrics, Berk’s sound is part alt-pop, part indie-rock, and entirely her own. Raised on classical piano and Disney scores before discovering The Beatles, Bowie, Liz Phair, and Elliott Smith, she writes with melodic precision and emotional clarity, crafting songs that feel both raw and deeply considered.
“It’s about a kind of optimism that hasn’t quite materialized yet,” Berk explains. “Just the act of saying ‘let’s do this someday’ keeps the future alive. Even if nothing changes, the thought that it could helps you feel okay.”
With 'ocd' on the horizon, Berk sets the tone for an album that promises to explore the tangled beauty of the mind with heart, honesty, and melody.
