Indie-pop duo The Ivy have released an infectious new offering called "Too Much." Grooving bass lines, well-crafted guitar lines and a well-penned, melodic vocal are all the right ingredients for a radio hit and this possesses all in abundance. Currently the band is on the road playing an extensive U.S. summer tour with Grayscale, and with their live show being as good as their back catalogue, they're sure to pick up new fans.
Talking about the single, the band shares:""Too Much’ started with just a drum loop and bass line. The pocket felt so good, that it made the song easy and enjoyable to write. We wrote it alongside production duo SameSame (Rob Cohen, Blake Mares) who helped us hone the feel and sound of the track. The idea of overthinking a conversation is a way too real feeling. Because of how relatable that subject was, it made the lyrics come organically.”
Their unique sound conjures up heartfelt, warm emotions beneath an 80s pop facade. Being among the few pop bands in recent years to emerge from the Sooner state, The Ivy has accomplished much already. With their last EP, "We Move Faster at Night," landing them on the Lollapalooza 2020 bill, The Ivy is set to release their third EP, "Look Inside," later this summer and we can't wait.
