The Open Flames Return With Cathartic New Single ‘Eat Alone’

The Open Flames are back as they unveil the follow-up single to their debut offering, ‘Drop A Coin’ released earlier this year. Bringing a fresh, garage-esque twist to their riotous brand of poetic rock, the new single ‘Eat Alone’ builds upon the group's intense sound with sonic punches and unforgiving backbeats.

The single wastes no time in roaring into life with its carefully measured feedback and drum fills. The track is once again spearheaded by frontman Dave Eastman whose craft of poetry offers a dynamic that is cathartic as it is thought-provoking. Wrapped up inside a three-minute pop song, the single gives a new lease of life to that Sonic Youth-esque garage sound whilst placing their own contemporary stamps along the way.

Speaking about the single, the group explain, "'Eat Alone' is about when you want to help someone who's hurting, and they don't want the help. It's a heartbreaking situation that we try to show through a caregiver's pleas — and memories — and the noise of the song."
