After 45 years of myth, mystique, and speculation, The Residents will finally take their landmark album Eskimo on the road. Launching January 8th in Vancouver, the Eskimo Live! Tour will span 12 cities across North America, bringing to life one of experimental music’s most elusive and iconic works. Each show will feature a theatrical full-length performance of Eskimo, with narration, characters, and immersive visuals expanding the mythology that has surrounded the album since 1979.

A radical sonic and conceptual departure when it first arrived, Eskimo eschewed song structures and lyrics in favor of fictional ethnography, satirical sound collages, and abstract sonic rituals. The result was a haunting critique of Western cultural exploitation wrapped in hypnotic drones and bone-chilling chants — as surreal as it was subversive. While critics immediately praised its innovation — NME’s Andy Gill called it “one of the most important albums ever made” — it has remained conspicuously absent from The Residents’ live repertoire. Until now.

Presented by The Cryptic Corporation, the Eskimo Live! Tour offers fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness The Residents reimagine one of their most conceptually daring records in a theatrical setting. With their identities still anonymous and their artistic mission ever-evolving, the tour reaffirms the group’s legacy as pioneers of performance art, sonic deconstruction, and radical anonymity.

Tickets go on sale Friday, October 3rd at 10am local time HERE.
