After a brief hiatus, Liverpool-based indie band The Welcome Addition embraced their folk roots in harmony-rich EP 'Many Moons'. Made up of four tracks, the EP discusses human connection, self-sabotage and mental health, lifting inspiration from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Gruff Rhys and Laura Cantrall.

Bassist Nik and songwriter Pete detail a track by track on the EP.

“It’s a mournful tale of self-sabotage. An alt-country take on the classic Motown sound. Uplifting music and melodies juxtaposed with melancholic lyrics dripping with harmonies and stacked vocals. Like Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci covering The Flying Burrito Brothers but with a twist.” Now Forever

“It’s a tongue-in-cheek tale of love and murder, though those with a horticultural interest may spot the floracidal pay-off.” Calathea

“We all know people who struggle with mental health, and the song is about how we should be more open and honest with those we care about, while we can." Time in Them

“It’s about wanting your nearest and dearest to outlive you, but not by too much!” I Hope I Die Before You

Having toured internationally, including South America and mainland Europe, as well as a string of shows across the UK, this offering is the band's first release since 2022. Since this brief hiatus, the band are back and sounding better and bigger than ever.
