Northeast rising star Tom A. Smith has released his latest single 'SFX' via Fiction Records, alongside confirmation of a major hometown performance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland.
Driven by upbeat indie-pop energy and sharp melodic hooks, 'SFX' presents a more assured and carefree side of Smith’s songwriting. The track explores themes of self-confidence and personal insecurity, offering a release through movement and music.
The release follows a busy period for the 21-year-old, including a recent appearance at South by Southwest. He is also set to embark on a UK headline run, rejoin The Lottery Winners on tour, and perform at the Eden Sessions alongside The Maccabees.
With continued radio support and growing audiences, Smith’s latest single further builds on the momentum of his recent EP 'Say What You Want', cementing his reputation as one of the UK’s most promising emerging acts.
