2ŁØT Complete Their “Second Hero’s Journey” With Mariel Jacoda
Most hero narratives end when the central conflict has been overcome. 2ŁØT is concerned with the part that comes afterward. The five-piece explores that uncertain territory across RE/SOLVE, a 16-track album arriving September 25th, and its final single, “I Want It All,” brings the project’s central question into focus.
The band refers to the album’s structure as the “Second Hero’s Journey.” Its songs trace a recurring process of reflection, transformation, and self-actualization, extending the story beyond a single breakthrough. Identity shifts throughout the record, as do the standards by which fulfillment is measured.
Featuring Mariel Jacoda, “I Want It All” captures the moment when an earlier dream has become reality but no longer feels like an endpoint. The lyrics recall wanting to “be someone,” then turn toward the realization that achieving that goal has not ended the search. The song treats this response as part of growth rather than evidence that the original dream was empty.
That distinction gives the album’s final chapter its emotional weight. Gratitude remains present, yet it does not cancel restlessness. The person looking back can value the journey and still recognize new ambitions ahead.
RE/SOLVE has gradually revealed that idea through a series of singles with different subjects and musical contexts. “Favorite Star,” produced by Ry-X, began with the recognition that an earlier identity had been outgrown. “Come Together” approached uncertainty through an emerging relationship, and “Lose My Mind” examined the destabilizing aftermath of a fractured one.
Other songs widened the record’s range through featured performances. Frank Moka appears on “Tread,” a track centered on jazz-inflected interaction. Elise Trouw and 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Cameron McCloud joined 2ŁØT for “I Hurt Myself Again,” while Eric Krasno and members of The Funky Knuckles contributed to “Iris.”
The full track list also includes collaborations with Jon Batiste and Robert Randolph, giving RE/SOLVE three GRAMMY Award-winning guests. Those appearances fit a larger history of musical exchange that has found 2ŁØT working with Aloe Blacc, Steve Aoki, Paul Oakenfold, Albert Harvey, and Michael Kang of The String Cheese Incident.
Despite that extensive guest list, the album remains anchored in the band’s established identity. Rudy Love Jr., Chase Koch, Omar Jahwar II, Sage Judd, and Robert Trusko combine live performance, improvisation, and electronic production under the Electronic Jam Music banner.
