Following the release of their latest single 'The Light', Flex caught up with ACCHORDIO to discover what influences their signature New Age sound with the soul of R&B. If you enjoy ACCHORDIO's picks, be sure to check out 'The Light' at the end of the article.

  1. Michael Jackson - Remember the Time

That’s my favorite song EVER! The way the background vocals develop through the song. The energetic new jack swing and the power of Michael’s lead vocal by the final portion of it! It’s a classic MUST HAVE in any r&b playlist!!!!

  1. Luther Vandross - Dance With My Father

I love great vocalists. Luther is the maximum God when perfect vocals is the main subject. Well the song also is beautiful with an incredible message through the amazing lyrics!

  1. Carpenters - This Masquerade

Melodies, vocals, harmonies… everything executed with PERFECTION, in a time that an artist had to be good to be good, if you know what I mean. You couldn’t emulate a voice like Karen Carpenter. Not even AI would have the gift and the power to create or recreate something as magical as the Carpenters. It’s a gift from the universe.

  1. Henry Mancini - The Pink Panther Theme

When I want to clear my ears from the daily noise, I go to the studio, turn on my SACD system (remember that?)  and play my Henry Mancini collection! It’s just like being in front of the orchestra enjoying a magical moment.

  1. George Michael - Fastlove

It’s funny to think that the version we listen to in the album is not the original but a remix made by Jon Douglas, the track’s producer. It’s an easy listening track that lifts the mood immediately!

I think these songs are a good example of how my music got shaped through the years, having these great professors as an example. Of course, there is sooo much more I could list here but then we need a whole week to discuss music.

Liked these tracks? So be sure to listen to ACCHORDIO!
