Mistress Named Music - Eric Church

Mistress named music is a great song off Mr. Misunderstood highlighting the dichotomy of relationships with music. The background vocals and instrumentals really an excellent story together.

The Sabre and the Rose - Kris Kristofferson

Classic Kris Kristofferson storytelling. This song has been a huge inspiration on my writing and in creating engaging storytelling. the imagery and concise descriptive writing allows the listener to picture the song scene by scene in their head.

Take it Easy - Eagles

One of the best, if not the best, country rock songs ever written in my opinion. The melody, words, and feel throughout the song are as good as it gets. A song that I’ve spent a number hours of listening to drawing a new inspiration from every time.

Colorado - Cody Jinks

A great example of Cody Jinks and Ward Davis at their best. Just a great country song in a genre that has mostly lost its way.

I Got the Same Old Blues - JJ Cale

A song that made it on to Lynyrd Skynyrds ‘Gimme Back My Bullets’. JJ Cale is inspiration to many artists like myself.  the lyrics and groove to this song are great example of a songwriter who can accomplish both at an extraordinary level.
