Following the release of his latest single 'Like Liam Gallagher', Flex caught up with Lewca to find out what influences his swaggering alt-indie rock sound. If you enjoy Lewca's picks, be sure to check out 'Like Liam Gallagher' at the end of the article.

1. Da Bush Babees : Pon de attack

I grew up in an environment where kids of all ages would hang out together doing stupid shit, so I must of been eleven or twelve when I heard this tune at a get together I definitely shouldn’t have been at. It blew my mind way more than the alcohol & drugs that were being passed around…

2. Warren Zevon : werewolves of London

I love this spoken tongue in cheek style, Donavan & Ian Dury have done it just as well, but there’s something about how he says “big dish of beef Chow mein” that is comedic & serious at the same time & find it awesome, it’s a style that I definitely aspire to replicate in my stuff.

3. Neutral Milk Hotel : King of carrot Flowers part One

Short of bob Dylan no one’s lyrics are more down to earth yet poignant and poetic than neutral milk hotel, this is an album I never stop coming back to…

4. Lords of Brooklyn : Saturday Night Fever

I love this tune, it’s a relatively unknown classic, and an absolute banger, the overly lad-ish beat them all up vibe is a great way to get worked up on a Saturday evening

5. John Prine : I had a dream

This one kinda feels like the song Zappa is talking about in Joe’s garage, it’s so simple it’s almost offensive, but it works so so well, I just can’t get enough of it.
