Annie Elie unveils Ever Since from the upcoming EP

Off the back of 2025 debut single Phoenix, Ever Since is the new offering from Annie Elie, aided by fellow co-producer and engineer Dave Hagan. Charming, with glowing piano lines, a bossa nova-inspired bass-and-drum groove, and a soulful vocal performance that shifts from playful and intimate to soaring, Ever Since is an enchanting offering informed by Annie’s jazz training. A glimmer of the divine runs through both the lyricism and arrangement as the song explores finding her path, remembering what she came here to do, and stepping more fully into that purpose.

Discussing the release, Annie Elie explains: 

"‘Ever Since’ began as an improvisation while I was living in the jungles of Kauaʻi. The melody and words came through almost all at once, and it felt less like I was writing a song and more like I was remembering something I already knew. At its heart, the song is about that innate knowing we carry before the world starts telling us who we’re supposed to be. There’s a playfulness to it, but also something deeply spiritual—the feeling that life itself is a gift, however it unfolds. Recording it in 432 Hz felt like a natural extension of that intention. I wanted the song to feel like remembering who you were created to be. Remembering that you were created to create.”

Born in Florida and having shared bills with Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek (Big Thief), Marcus King, and Gabe Simon, Annie placed among the top two finalists in a songwriting competition featuring Grammy winner Shawn Colvin. Her presence is grounded, free-flowing, and ethereal. Annie brings a lifetime of creative instinct to her craft, having written and performed for twenty years, and now she begins the newest chapter of her recording career.
