Sidio unveils new single Blue Jeans

Brooklyn-based R&B artist Sidio is stepping out with his debut single, Blue Jeans. Sleek flow and a cultured production make Blue Jeans hard to put down. Grooving percussion and swirling synths swell into layered harmonies, spilling into a rich, chaotic bridge before a declarative final chorus

Discussing the release, Sidio explains:

“Blue Jeans is about the tension between wanting to be what everyone expects and knowing it just isn't you. I hated wearing jeans as a kid, always felt like I was playing a part. That feeling followed me into adulthood: suiting up for a finance job, chasing an image I didn't actually want. The song is me calling myself out on that. Wanting to belong to something while accepting that I don't. It's not a fun thing to look in the face, but sitting with it pushed me toward creating again, and toward a version of myself I'm actually excited about. The wordplay, the synths, the dreamy production, it all flowed pretty naturally from that headspace.”

Having grown up singing and producing, Sidio took a creative sabbatical to build a corporate life in finance, and now is re-entering the industry on his own terms. Discussing themes of internal conflicts in day-to-day life, Sidio’s sound plays with nostalgia while being relentlessly forward-looking.
