Alternative fusion artist ‘As Per Casper’ release their latest single ‘H.M.U’. The track is the second instalment taken from upcoming EP ‘Flow’. Formed in Dubai, lead singer-songwriter and frontwoman, Carla Saad collaborates with various musicians across different nationalities to create music that bridges traditional Western and Arabic influences resulting in rich, full-bodied, symphonic musical pieces.

H.M.U encapsulates this sound. Enlisting the help of long-time collaborator, Font Leroy to craft an alternative R&B track that blends catchy melodies with Arabic and English vocal lines to construct a sonically rich track that plays off of people's flirtatious nature. The hook line ‘Hakini’ translates to H.M.U in Arabic.

As Per Casper explains the track further, “H.M.U is about showing up irrelevant of how long you've known someone. Quality of the connection versus the longevity of it, whether it's a love interest or a friend.”

The brainchild of Carla Saad, As Per Casper firmly believes that music can break down barriers and stereotypes while providing a platform for discussion and collaboration. With the world increasingly polarised music acts as a source to exchange ideas and stories, with the collaborative nature of the collective opening up opportunities to share experiences and culture from artists around the world that apart from music, would otherwise have little in common. Carla Saad is a testament to this idea, coming from a Syrian-Palestinian origin while also having connections to Dubai, the UK and now living in Berlin, Saad knows better than most the rich musical diversity and culture that is offered from both the East and West.

As Per Casper released their debut album ‘Hit The Ground’ in 2016 which topped the iTunes Middle East chart, since then Saad and the collective have performed extensively throughout the UAE and beyond including Expo 2020 (headling Mariah Carey & Hussein Al Jasmi), Mother of the Nation festival ( headlining Craig David & Sherine) and Fête de la Musique at the Dubai Opera to name a few. Garnering support from the likes of Vogue Arabia, multiple nominations for ‘Best Original Act’ and ‘Best Local Act/Band’ across 2018, 2019 and 2020 at the TimeOut Dubai and What's On Awards, and brand collaborations with the likes of Shure, Absolut Vodka and LUSH.

With the release of their last single ‘Heat’ which saw praise from the likes of Notion, ‘As Per Casper’ looks forward to the release of H.M.U and subsequent EP ‘Flow’ as they continue to inspire others to collaborate, discuss and exchange ideas through their music.
