Emerging from Northampton’s indie underground, teenage jangle-pop outfit Balter are making a statement with their infectious new single 'someday', taken from their upcoming debut EP, produced by Jon Hucks (Hallan, Dream Nails). Set for release on Friday 16th May, the EP captures the rush and heartbreak of youth, pulled from lead singer Tom’s own real-life romantic rollercoaster.
Balter—comprised of Tom (vocals/guitar), Jake (lead guitar), Liam (bass), and Will (drums)—recorded the EP at Hucks’ Liverpool studio during the summer of 2024, fresh off completing their GCSEs. someday, the second single from the project, channels the raw energy of their live shows into a crisp three-minute indie anthem. With Jake’s shimmering guitar lines and Liam’s tight, understated groove, the track lands somewhere between early Bombay Bicycle Club and the carefree charm of The Magic Gang.
Already earning early support from BBC Introducing, Radio X and 6 Music, Balter are quickly becoming one of the UK’s most exciting young acts. Their live momentum continues this spring as they head out in support of The Bluetones on a UK tour in April, before hitting SXSW London in June.
