Wexford-born folk-rock duo Basciville have announced their long-awaited sophomore album 'Love In The Time Of The State', set for release on March 13, 2026 via Faction Records. The announcement is paired with the unveiling of their evocative new single 'Nothing Surprises Me Anymore', a powerful meditation on resilience, quiet rebellion, and finding slivers of beauty amid daily disillusionment.
Brothers Cillian and Lorcan Byrne describe the track as a reflection of modern survival that acknowledges state neglect, emotional fatigue, and the need to reclaim agency in small, meaningful ways.
The new album captures Basciville at their most impassioned, channelling Radiohead’s late-‘90s edge, Jeff Buckley’s intensity, and the sweeping textures of Gustavo Santaolalla. Thematically, it dives into political disaffection, emotional unrest, and the endurance of love despite existential collapse. Highlights include 'Meteors and Let Downs', the spacious opener 'Higher Plans', and a moving duet with Ailbhe Reddy, 'Your Own Head'.
