Hot on the heels of their latest EP release, 'Prime', Devon-based blues-rock outfit BLUEJAY have announced their latest show in Exeter, where they will be appearing at The Phoenix for one night only. With tickets on sale now, the band will take to the stage on the 12th September and promise a night filled with huge guitar riffs, a buzzing atmosphere and endless guitar solos. The band will be joined by fellow contemporaries Heartwood as well as more special guests, to be announced.

Speaking about their songwriting process, the band reflect on how they operate and how they have improved over the years, “We have improved this over the years, and it’s got quite a nice rhythm to it now. Jez and I are always coming up with riffs which we hastily get onto any recorded format, usually a quick film. All of us know that a good and powerful riff is everything in rock. When it comes to lyrics, I’m always making notes on my phone as phrases that I hear or just come into my head - often in the shower! If I get a line or two or a melody, I then need to get it down in some way as soon as possible, else it's gone! After I get a demo together, I then have the nervous moment of presenting to the rest of the band. It’s a bit like handing over a baby…”
