Bristol indie-dreampop quartet Chasing Kites have returned with their most expansive and emotive track to date. Released today, 20th June, new single ‘Luna’ finds the rising four-piece refining their cinematic sound with elegance, depth, and emotional weight.
Produced by Sam Winfield at Studio 91 (Bring Me The Horizon, Amber Run), ‘Luna’ is a rich sonic journey, blending electronic textures with swirling shoegaze-influenced guitars and a tight, propulsive rhythm section. At the core of the track are tender, heartfelt vocals that guide the listener through its atmospheric layers. The song opens in a dreamlike haze, before erupting into a euphoric, anthemic chorus that pulls it into sharper indie-pop territory.
Talking about the track, vocalist Matt Denelly explains:“‘Luna’ is the retelling of a dream I had about the end of the world. Although this apocalyptic scenario is inevitably quite crucial, the track is more centred around the protagonist falling in love, overshadowing everything else that is going on. It’s a love letter to the all-consuming power of infatuation.”
Since their formation in 2021, Chasing Kites have swiftly established themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting new acts. With sold-out headline shows across the country and a growing list of support slots for bands like The Lottery Winners, King-No-One, and Dutch Criminal Record, their live presence has matched the strength of their recorded output.
With ‘Luna’, Chasing Kites continue to cement their place as ones to watch, offering a soaring, cinematic reflection on love, dreams, and the beauty of losing yourself in both.
