Right from the first beat, Cosmic Gloss’ three-track EP 'Comfort Bullet' is jagged, unpredictable, and wired with a kind of nervous energy that feels closer to instinct than intention. Opening with the atmospheric title-track, you’re dropped into a world where structure feels optional and tension is the main currency. Beats hit in sharp, uneven bursts, textures crackle and distort, and the vocal delivery feels half-spoken, half-thought, like you’re overhearing something you weren’t meant to.
There’s something almost physical about how this track lands. The repetition feels deliberate, like it’s trying to drill an idea into your head, but never quite settles into something comfortable. Keeping it restless in a way that keeps you locked in.
‘Asta(Astra)’ takes that same DNA but stretches it out. It’s less claustrophobic, and more expansive, but not in a comforting way. It feels like drifting in open space with no clear direction. The sound design leans wider, but there’s still an unease running underneath it all. It’s the kind of track that feels like it’s searching for something without knowing exactly what that is.
By the time ‘Atrium’ hits, the EP feels like it’s reached a boiling point. Everything tightens, intensifies, and then pushes forward with a heavier, more forceful presence. The rhythms feel sharper and more direct, and there’s a sense that whatever tension has been building finally has somewhere to go.
What makes 'Comfort Bullet' stand out is its refusal to behave like a traditional release. There are no easy hooks to cling to, and no obvious entry points. It’s built more like a sequence of moments than a set of songs. And yet, that’s exactly what makes it compelling. It feels immediate, unfiltered, and completely uninterested in playing by anyone else’s rules.
