Decrepit Youths are no strangers to disorder, but with their new release, they channel it into something totally unexpected. The six-piece dive headfirst into pop territory, tearing apart Girls Aloud’s iconic 'Sound of the Underground' and reassembling it with a snarling punk edge.
Far from a straight-up rework, this version is a full-throttle genre demolition, taking the slick chart-topping original and running it through a distortion pedal, then lighting the remains on fire. Equal parts chaos and precision, the band fuse their ADHD-fuelled energy with a familiar hook, creating a version that’s loud, abrasive, and oddly addictive.
