Where infectious melodies meet bold, boundary-pushing production stands David De La Garza, better known as DLG. With over 50 million streams and a rapidly growing fanbase, the Austin-born, Los Angeles-based artist has built his name on emotional honesty, genre fluidity, and cinematic soundscapes. His upcoming debut album, arriving October 10th, promises to be his defining statement, and the final preview single, “Erase”, confirms it.

A collaboration with longtime friends Koastle (Andy Mueller and Brett Beaudette), “Erase” is a lush, introspective anthem that blurs the lines between indie, electronic, and alt-pop. Recorded at Spotify Studios in Los Angeles and written in a snow-melting cabin in Tahoe, the track finds DLG. confronting the bittersweet ache of heartbreak and the desperate wish to forget.

He explains, “‘Erase’ was heavily inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I wrote it after the only serious relationship of my life ended after four years. It’s about wanting to erase the pain — but knowing those memories made you who you are.”

DLG.’s vocals glide between soulful vulnerability and anthemic lift, carried by Koastle’s shimmering production, a swirl of crisp percussion, airy synths, and swelling emotion that evokes both Tame Impala’s psych-pop grandeur and Flume’s cinematic intensity. The result is a song that feels as intimate as a late-night confession and as massive as a festival moment.

The partnership between DLG. and Koastle is one of natural chemistry. Having collaborated multiple times before, the trio have developed a rare creative shorthand, each release pushing the other into new sonic territory. Koastle, known for their “Koastcards” project (a year-long musical road trip releasing a new track weekly from locations around the world), bring their trademark sparkle and vision, elevating “Erase” into a rich emotional experience.

Visually and sonically, DLG. continues to craft his own world, one rooted in authenticity, artistry, and collaboration. Even his album’s aesthetic, created alongside his mother, a celebrated painter and sculptor, underscores how deeply personal this project is.

With “Erase”, DLG. cements his position as one of the most compelling new voices in indie music. It’s a song that aches, glows, and lingers, a final emotional release before what promises to be a stunning debut.
