London-based singer-songwriter Ella Jinks returns with her much-anticipated second EP 'The In Between', a powerful and introspective collection that follows the success of her BBC Introducing-supported 'Maybe In Another Life', the Katie Melua co-written 'This Fall', and the EP’s title track. Out now, the record is highlighted by the deeply emotive new single 'Just Another Day', accompanied by a striking video directed by Inam Zimbalista.
Following on from 2023’s 'Conversations', Ella’s latest EP expands her signature blend of indie-folk, soul, and blues, infusing her rich, sonorous vocals with a full live-band production, elegant harmonies, and evocative string arrangements. At the heart of 'The In Between' is a theme of personal growth and confronting one’s own shadows.
“This EP delves into the more uncomfortable parts of self-discovery and learning to face the darker aspects of ourselves that we tend to keep hidden,” Ella explains. “The act of creating and sharing this project has been a way of reclaiming parts of myself that I might have struggled to accept in the past. These songs became a cathartic release, a way of confronting my shadows and learning not to perceive them as flaws but as valuable parts of my identity.”
