Acclaimed musician Tom Norris, principal violinist of the London Symphony Orchestra, launches a new creative venture under the name GAIGA. His debut single, ‘Armonika’, is out now, offering the first glimpse of his forthcoming self-titled album, ‘GAIGA’, due in 2026.
Renowned for a career that bridges classical and contemporary worlds, Norris has worked with an extraordinary range of artists including John Williams, Alexandre Desplat, Paul McCartney, The Who, Elvis Costello, Tony Bennett, Nanci Griffith, Seal, Floating Points, Jeff Mills, Dave Brubeck, Soweto Kinch and Nitin Sawhney. His work spans film soundtracks, orchestral performances, and collaborations across classical, jazz and electronic genres.
With GAIGA, Norris opens a new chapter, merging the precision of acoustic and classical instrumentation with the immersive textures of electronic music. Self-produced, ‘Armonika’ offers a vivid introduction to this sound world. The track begins in an atmosphere of reverb-soaked synths and trilling strings before finding momentum in a pulsing arpeggiator, swinging high-hats and a driving four-to-the-floor rhythm. Layer by layer, it builds toward a euphoric, danceable haze that balances organic warmth with electronic pulse.
Talking about the upcoming album, Tom Norris (GAIGA) explains: “The album draws from the myriad influences of the composer’s rich and diverse musical background, where classical instrumentation is complemented with synthesised soundscapes and evolving textures.”
‘Armonika’ is out now, with the full-length debut ‘GAIGA’ following in 2026.
