British singer-songwriter Henry Grace returns with 'California Rain', the fourth and final single from his forthcoming second album 'Things Are Moving All Around Me', due January 23rd. Co-produced by Blaine Harrison of Mystery Jets and recorded live to tape at Middle Farm Studios, the track is a wistful postcard from Grace’s early twenties in Los Angeles, a city that helped shape his identity and songwriting voice.
Built on tumbling drums, reverb-soaked guitars, and Grace’s gently aching vocal delivery, 'California Rain' explores themes of distance, longing, and emotional dislocation. “It offers a sense of yearning, and a restlessness, that runs like a thread through all the singles on the album,” Grace explains.
The song captures the transatlantic tone of 'Things Are Moving All Around Me', a record born from change, written between London and California, and shaped by years of movement, love, and reflection. Where his debut 'Alive In America' leaned into sparse, solitary arrangements, the new album introduces a full-band sound, with contributions from Harrison (keys, vocals), Brian Love (guitar), Tom Holder (bass), and Toby Evangelou (drums).
