Honess Jones delights us all with nostalgic pop debut EP 'A Modern Guy'

Updated: Nov 29, 2021

Honess Jones has quickly arrived on the pop scene with a relentless authority. His love for music has transcended into him possessing a love for all things pop, and in his case 'MEAN POP' which we already love. Working with the likes of Oliver Wright for mixing (Hot Chip, Jay Electronica) and mastering by John Davis (Gorillaz, Dua Lipa), Jones has certainly paved the way for a modern, cutting edge sound in his euphoric collection of pop songs in debut EP 'A Modern Guy'.

All the songs pull their own agenda and shape, but 'Drive Slow' is mesmerising; with hard hitting synths and pulsating beats, alongside Jones signature and also unique vocal. It's a testament to the late 80s/early 90s in particular with this one, as its supremely catchy and gives that night club feeling ; think George Michael meets Pet Shop Boys but with more of a punch.

Good Bad Grace takes a slightly darker turn, but also showcases Jones' abilities as an artist to relate to and invest in. There's more of a Christine and the Queens feel to this one, all the while Honess brings it all to the table and more, in a slow mover and glider that will again, still making you want to head straight to that dance floor.

With a sonically diverse sound already emerging, and with this being the first taste of what he has to offer - we are sure that Honess Jones is going to have a massive 2022.
