We sat down with Vimbai-Rose to discuss her music and much more. Here is what she had to say:

Hey Vimbai-Rose welcome to FLEX! How are you?

I’m great thank you for asking.

Congratulations on your brand-new EP 'Silva Lining' - what inspired this particular project?

My nephew Silva was born last year, at this time, it felt like everything I’d been working towards in music was becoming my reality. I could finally see the silver lining in my story.

And do you have to be in a certain mood to write?

Yes definitely, if my mind is clouded and I have a lot to do I can’t get into the zone 100% and turn my thoughts into lyrics effectively. I have to be in a quiet space and in a mental place where I’ve experienced and seen certain things to gain new inspiration.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was very spontaneous, a few of the songs I’ve had for a while but when my producer Trezzor and I listened to a few, they sounded cohesive and it made sense to create a project. The project is all about reflection so it was nice to write these songs and close certain chapters ready for my new ones.

For viewers who don’t know Vimbai-Rose, how would you describe your sound?

Authentic.

And what are some of those activities that you engage yourself in when you aren't writing or recording in the studio?

I love clothes, hair, and everything fashion-related. It’s just another form of expression for me.
