Jeeves' debut single Where Did All The Good Men Go? is a quiet, considered entry into the world rather than a dramatic curtain-raiser. Written in 2017 in response to the conversations happening around #MeToo, it’s a reflective track that asks more questions than it answers — and that’s the point.

Musically, it sits comfortably in the singer-songwriter space, drawing on familiar influences like John Mayer and Ed Sheeran. The Nashville production, led by Charles Myers, is clean and tasteful, with drums from Aaron Sterling and a well-placed string arrangement from Shaan Ramaprasad that gives the song extra weight without overdoing it.

Jeeves’ vocal delivery is restrained and unshowy, serving the lyrics rather than competing with them. The central question - “Are good men the rule or the exception?” - is delivered with sincerity. It’s not a lecture, just an honest attempt to make sense of things.

There are a few moments where the production slightly overpowers the vocal, but overall this is a solid, thoughtful debut. It suggests an artist more interested in substance than spectacle - and one worth keeping an eye on ahead of his album Now or Never.
