Detroit producer and sonic trailblazer JMT (Joshua Turner) has unveiled his bold new single, “Yes, I Can” ft. Daniel Hex — a collision of GhettoTech, Techno, and classic R&B. Pulled from his upcoming album GHETTOTECHTROPOLIS, the track challengea genre boundaries — and sprints through them.

Inspired by Detroit’s restless energy and the high-octane legacy of artists like HiTech, MCR-T, and DJ Godfather, “Yes, I Can” blends raw club propulsion with slow-burning soul. What started as a rainy-day session at Heaven Studios — the creative hub co-founded by Royce Da 5’9” — morphed into something unexpected: a sensual R&B cut retooled into a turbo-charged GhettoTech anthem.

“We wanted to make a GhettoTech track that felt like a classic R&B record, but with the new energy coming out of Detroit... and we did just that,” says JMT.

Built on Daniel Hex’s velvet-smooth vocals and anchored by a groove that eventually kicks into overdrive, “Yes, I Can” exists in two worlds at once: intimate and urgent, romantic and riotous. It’s just as comfortable in a warehouse set at 3AM as it is soundtracking a hazy drive through the city.

More than a single, “Yes, I Can” is a declaration of intent — a marker for where Detroit’s electronic underground is heading next. Emotional, physical, unclassifiable.
