Dutch indie-pop standout Judy Blank has teamed up with American singer-songwriter SUSTO (aka Justin Osborne) for 'Cosmic Kids', a glowing, synth-soaked duet that captures the exhilaration of connection forged at the wrong time.
Written with Sam Vano and recorded in the Netherlands, 'Cosmic Kids' feels like a late-night ride through a dream you’re trying not to wake from. It’s steeped in analogue synths and woozy textures, recalling the neon melancholy of Drive-era electro-pop and the romantic tension of a John Hughes slow dance.
But it’s the vocal interplay between Blank and Osborne that makes the track truly shine. Their performances feel urgent and intimate, a call-and-response between two people circling a truth neither can fully hold. With lyrics that explore the ache of missed timing and emotional misalignment, the track balances shimmer with substance.
“In my songwriting, the emotions you’re not supposed to have are often the ones that demand to be written,” Blank shares, and that sense of longing pulses through every beat.
