Katie Dauson's new album, "Pure Katie," is a fun and energetic ride through rock and roll. It wasn't planned to be a typical album. Instead, the songs evolved on their own, becoming something exciting and unexpected.
Katie herself describes it as a rock and roll album with a few surprises thrown in. The album has 12 songs, each with a lot of energy and catchy tunes. Katie's diverse musical influences shine through. You can hear bits of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Fats Domino in her music.
The songs range from fast, danceable beats to slower, heartfelt songs. "Won’t You" is a high-energy rockabilly song, while "Go Penny Go" is a fun, roller derby-inspired track. The album ends with "When Will I Wake Up," a rock song perfect for late nights. Katie's journey to music wasn't straightforward. She studied physics and astronomy and worked in advertising and video game design. It wasn't until she performed her song "Virtual Sky" at an open mic that she found her true passion for songwriting.
Katie’s music reflects her unique background. She combines her academic side with her creative spirit, creating a sound that's all her own. Her music invites listeners into her world, where every song tells a story. "Pure Katie" is now available on CD, vinyl, and cassette. Katie Dauson's music continues to spread joy and connect with people through her authentic sound.
