New York City singer-songwriter Leo Sawikin has now returned to share his latest single 'Am I Ever Gonna Fly Again'. The track offers a glimpse into his highly anticipated debut album 'Till You’re Somebody Else', which is set to drop on the 24th January.
'Am I Ever Gonna Fly Again' is a melodic reflection on the fleeting nature of joy, inspired by Sawikin’s transformative European travels. The song captures the highs of a vibrant journey from Rome to Barcelona via the South of France and the contrast of a less fulfilling trip a year later, traveling from London to Frankfurt. A night of excess in Cologne left Sawikin hungover and introspective, inspiring lyrics that wrestle with the dissonance between living a dream and feeling empty.
“The first trip was one of the most exciting and life-changing times of my life,” Sawikin shares. “But the second time, it just wasn’t the same. I woke up in Germany feeling hungover, depressed, and hopeless. I questioned if I’d ever feel that happy, free, and alive again.”
