London-based artist Malaika has released her latest single 'External Things', the third preview of her upcoming debut EP 'Dye My Hair Dark In The Summer', due May 12.
Following earlier releases 'Pretty Pretty Thing' and 'Real Deal', the new track continues her shift toward bright, polished indie-pop, pairing upbeat production with candid lyricism. Co-produced with JMAC and featuring drums from Freddy Sheed, the song explores the tendency to seek short-term distractions rather than confronting deeper emotions.
'External Things' reflects on the cycle of quick fixes and fleeting highs, capturing how temporary solutions can mask underlying struggles without truly resolving them.
